Brechin Morgan is a native of Connecticut. He spent summers of his youth on a mile long beach near New London where he watched ships entering and leaving the harbor. At the age of sixteen he left high school to work in Greenwich Village. He hitch-hiked across the country and through Mexico riding over 1,000 miles through the southwest in railroad boxcars. He worked in the Virgin Islands on a Brixham trawler sailing to Martinique. He attended two years at Silvermine College of Art in New Canaan Connecticut and studied painting. For over twenty years he owned a sign company and painted large outdoor murals. Then, giving his company to his daughter, he spent four and a half years sailing single handed around the world in his 27 foot sailboat “Otter”. Returning to Connecticut he set up a studio in Bridgeport CT and paints from his sailing and marine experiences.
