Meighan Morrison’s work is large in scale, limited in palette, minimal in composition and high in contrast. Organic textures juxtaposed against bold geometric shapes. Intentional simplicity and/or untamed gestures are favored over precision or intricate detail.
Meighan’s hope is that her paintings can serve as a small but tangible rebellion against an ever more complicated world and everything in it, including ourselves. A reminder of the enduring powers of simplicity and freedom to soothe and to satisfy, if not solve, our human condition.
