Georgette Wirth
Multi-Media Artist
Studio 205B
geowirthsalander@gmail.com
Georgette Wirth is a multi-media artist working across painting, ceramics, and textiles. Her practice explores color, texture, and form through both functional and fine art objects—from expressive portraits to richly glazed ceramic works and experimental sculpture.
Before joining the American Fabrics Arts Building community, Wirth co-founded Wirth Salander Studios, an internationally recognized ceramic and tile design company based in Wilton, Connecticut. For over 30 years, the studio created custom hand-painted tiles and mosaics for architects, interior designers, and private collectors, with work featured in major design publications and installed in homes across the country.
Now focusing on her personal studio practice, Wirth brings decades of experience in craft and design into a new creative chapter—one that bridges her love of traditional materials with an experimental, contemporary approach. She will also be offering a selection of vintage art tiles and panels from her former studio during AmFab Open Studios, November 8–9.
